Why Honey Pot?

Honey Pot exists to holds space to connect and move with the rhythm of mama nature, together, through ceremony and ritual.

Meet Tish Ella

Kia ora community! A little bit about me 🙂 My journey in this space began when I started practicing yoga, which supported my mental wellbeing so much I decided to head to India to complete my 200hr yoga teacher training for a deeper personal inquiry.

Fast forward 6 years, and my practice intuitively become very yin. I’ve since completed my somatic yin yoga and sacred sound healing training, as well as spending time Retreat Leading for the multi awarding winning Aro Ha Wellness Retreats.

Becoming a Postpartum Doula
For me, yoga is so much more than asana – it is a lifestyle, and especially now being on the journey of motherhood. Walking the path of motherhood and stepping into the nurturing role, I felt a deep calling to support mothers on their unique journeys, both through pregnancy and the sacred postpartum period.

For me the transition from maiden to mother was amongst the most heart expansive experiences – wild, raw, intense, love filled – and also came with challenge in the first 40 days, which has inspired me to learn more so I can support other mamas as they journey through this sacred portal. I completed my Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula Training with Soma Shakti and my hope is that we can change the ‘bounce back’ culture, to one where mamas can rest, rest and rest some more during their sacred window. I believe in the power of a community that holds and supports its mothers, enabling them to not only survive but thrive, creating a ripple effect for the greater whole. Honey Pot Culture exists to help build community, one that is abundant in love and compassion – with the philosophy that when you fill up your own Honey Pot with love, it can overflow, nourishing those around you too.

How did Honey Pot Begin?

I noticed that so often after a yoga class, everyone would rush off, missing the perfect opportunity to connect with the incredible humans we’d just experienced something magical with.

I started dreaming of a space where it was encouraged to just be for a little longer, to stay, to talk, to hug and be together... then Honey Pot manifested!

Honey Pot began in 2019. Back then I held ceremonies, collaborating with a variety of facilitators to curate an experience across multiple modalities – combining practices such as meditation, breathwork, yoga, sound healing and cacao – and after there was always time to spend connecting with one another.

Honey Pot has naturally evolved over the years. I’ve transitioned into motherhood and now offer doula practices such as Mother Blessings, Closing of the Bones, and Postpartum Care. I also teach yoga from my home studio in Waihi and facilitate retreats with my dear friend and holistic health practitioner, Sarah Vickers. I still hold ceremonies and gatherings! Have a look at what’s coming up HERE.

There’s lots more goodness in this Honey Pot than ever beofre! Enjoy exploring x
